This original acrylic pen drawing on birch wood was created from my love of the sea. I'd had this disc for about three years. It was a gift from my father, or rather, a friend of his who also makes things with wood, and he had let it dry for a while. "A beautiful smooth side for your daughter's art." I received the disc and wanted to make something beautiful with it. Because the annual rings of the wood are so prominent, I found it very difficult to do something with it. How do I make it my own, and how do I let the wood's structure shine through? Finally, I did! After another "posca" project, I created a unique work in a surprisingly short time. There's a lot of feeling and love in it, and a lot of things came to the surface because the disk had been waiting to be drawn on for a while ;).


I live near the sea. The pull and push of the ebb and flow. The natural movement. Beautiful. The sea has always been a source of inspiration for me, and more and more so in recent years.
