This drawing emerged from a feeling of inner movement. As if something inside wanted to flow outward — an eruption, but gentle. A flower that doesn’t open all at once, but layer by layer, in its own rhythm. That’s how Lotus Eruption came to be.
I worked on 400 gsm watercolor paper using Indian ink and watercolor. The gold paint shimmers subtly, almost like a memory of light that was always there. Every line was drawn by hand, without a set plan. The shapes unfolded the way a flower does: intuitively, organically.
To me, the lotus symbolizes purity, but also growth that often remains invisible beneath the surface. Like roots doing their work in the dark before the flower ever meets the light. Lotus Eruption speaks of that moment when you feel: now I can emerge. Not because I have to, but because it’s time.
