….as a born Dutchman I always wanted to do this, paint a pair of clogs - meaning in this case. I bought these second-hand at a local thrift store and transformed them into ‘byligtenberg’s’ ✍🏻✨with posca and golden Lascaux paint.


Clogs have been worn by workers and farmers since ancient times. This is because leather shoes were unaffordable in the Middle Ages. In the Netherlands, clogs were perfect footwear for the muddy ground. In Amsterdam, the oldest known clog in the world has even been found, which seems to have its origins in 1230.
