An SLR camera, or simply an SLR, is a photo camera that is equipped with a special viewfinder system that allows optimal aiming and adjustment of the camera.
In the beam path between lens (objective) and film (or sensor), a mirror is placed at an angle of 45 degrees, which projects the image onto a horizontal focusing glass that is generally frosted and usually called ground glass. Normally the mirror reflects the light upwards.
